TOM CARR'S DARK SIDE OF THE MITTEN PRESENTATION
Author Tom Carr narrates stories of murder, robbery, and mayhem throughout the ages in the Great Lakes. Delivered in a lively manner with humor and historical context, the stories encompass a wide variety of crimes, from passion-fueled murders to greed-driven robberies, from acts of sheer insanity to instances of sheer awfulness. He has related tales of true crimes and dark history in all corners of both peninsulas. While he includes occurrences from various sources throughout the state, he also tailors each talk so attendees hear about incidents close to home. Carr is an award-winning reporter and columnist who worked at daily newspapers in Michigan for over 25 years. As a freelance writer and broadcaster, his work has appeared in NPR, The New York Daily News, The Detroit Free Press, and numerous other local, regional, and national news outlets.
SHORT BIO
Tom Carr's latest book, Dark Side of the Mitten, is the third in his Blood on the Mitten series of Michigan true crime and dark history. The award-winning journalist worked at Traverse City Record-Eagle and has reported for NPR, Detroit Free Press, New York Daily News, and others. He lives with his wife Maria near Buckley, Michigan.
