Mackinac Straits History: Behind the Scenes In-Person

Mackinac Island is a beloved destination for many Michiganders.  Explore its rich history, including indigenous cultures, the fur trade, logging, historical battles, and the production of fudge. Historian and former resident Andrew Kercher will share his experiences of wearing a wool uniform, firing muskets, and living on the island during winter while working security at the Grand Hotel.
