Join us in welcoming Vanessa Ivy Rose for a discussion about her book, *Hall of Fame DNA: The Legacy of Norman "Turkey" Stearnes*. The story of Norman "Turkey" Stearnes is one of greatness hidden in plain sight. According to baseball statistics and his four Hall of Fame inductions, he ranks among the all-time greats, yet many people have never heard of him. In this unique blend of sports biography and memoir, Rose presents a compelling narrative. Written as a conversation with Turkey himself, she reveals what makes her grandfather an unforgettable legend, both on and off the field.

Vanessa Rose is an author, storyteller, and educator.  In honor of her grandfather's baseball legacy, she has hosted ABC's award-winning podcast, "Reclaimed: The Forgotten League," and written a book titled "Hall of Fame DNA: The Legacy of Norman 'Turkey' Stearns." Her work has been featured on platforms such as CNN, GMA3, NPR, Bally Sports, and ESPN's 30 for 30 podcast channel. She has also been invited to speak for various professional baseball organizations, as well as at the Detroit Historical Museum and the Hamtramck Historical Museum.

As an athlete, Vanessa has been featured in Sports Illustrated. She played basketball in Barcelona and received a Division I scholarship.   One of the collegiate teams she played on has been recognized in the school's Athletic Hall of Fame.  In addition to her accomplishments in sports, Vanessa is an educator with multiple degrees, including a Master's in Teaching and a B.A. in Communication.
